COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA
Eclectic accumulation including bundle of Avoca Township Waterworks Trust documents many with Victoria 1d Stamp Duty revenues affixed (100+), a few covers etc noted 1915-19 State Rivers & Water Supply Commission postcards x7 with KGV ½d green (2), 1d red (2) & 1½d brown (3), then quantity of Pre-Decimals & Decimals used sorted into envelopes, couple of albums with some foreign also, condition variable but mostly fine.
State Government Perfins array with some better values and multiples noted, also some commercial perfins, Victoria stamps with some postmark interest & Revenues, plus a packet of covers with Gippsland interest.
C of A - Flight Covers
1932 New England Airways Ltd illustrated passenger ticket #1906 dated "28 4 32" & signed "CM Gorman", Queensland KGV 2d revenue pen-cancelled on the same date, a bit worn from having been folded in the passenger's wallet. Nice item.
C of A - Postal History
1934 GB KGV ½d large STO Envelope (245x165mm) for McMillan & Co (London) to Victoria with Australia-London Customs Duty 'ONE/CENT' on ½d red & brown pair tied to face by 'CANCELLED' cachet, plus Royal Institute of International Affairs cover with 'TWO/CENTS' on 1d gold & blue and unoverprinted ¼d 'mixed franking', 1935 with 'THREE/CENTS' on 2d green & orange and 1937 with 1d gold & blue all similarly tied on face of large covers, a few minor blemishes. Apparently stamps overprinted in US currency were surplus to requirements and were sent back to London to be used-up there.

CHINA - Postal History
1946-48 airmail covers to UK with wide variety of Sun Yat-Sen, Martyrs and other frankings, many overprints including a couple of Train Revenues, a few commemoratives, etc, some registered and one to Western Australia endorsed "Sample of no commercial value" with 'CUSTOMS' cachet, condition variable but mostly fine.
1980s to recent commercial covers with variety of commemorative & definitive frankings, destinations include USA, Germany and quite a few to Romania, some single frankings, plus two documents with 1950s overprinted revenues, condition variable but generally fine.
REVENUES: KEVII Unappropriated Dies 24 denominations between 1d & £50 in purple, 11 denominations between 6d & 15/- in green & 6d in rose-pink, plus five to £1 overprinted for various users and Dog 'LICENSE TWO SHILLINGS', each with 'SPECIMEN' Handstamp or Horseshoe 'SPECIMEN' Overprint, all affixed to two foolscap pages with interleaving in a leather-bound folio, a few minor rust spots that don't affect the stamps and otherwise quite delightful.
WEI-HAI-WEI: GB Revenues KGV 2d green overprinted 'TWO CENTS/WEIHAIWEI', unused. Very scarce. [The illustration is above Lot 904]
REVENUES: Attractive selection of the early Stamp Duty issues with Imperforate including 1/4d 1/8d 3/4d 6/8d 7/- purple & red, 15/- x2, £1 'TWENTY/SHILLINGS', £1/10/- & £7, mostly with full margins; Rouletted 6d grey-brown & blue; Perf separated by Die but unchecked by us including 6d red-brown, 1/4d 3/4d 6/8d 7/6d 8/- 9/- 15/- x3, £1 'TWENTY/SHILLINGS', £1 'ONE/POUND' x3, £1/5/-, £1/10/-, £1/15/-, £2, £2/10/- & £3 x2, etc, also a few 'COUNTERPART' & 'FINE/PAID', etc, generally fine to very fine.

PAPUA - 1901-1942 The BNG & Papua Stamps Period
Collection on Hagners with three dubious 'BNG' cancels on Queensland, then mostly mint with BNG set to 2/6d & used to 1/-, Bicolours to 10/- plus 9d & 1/3d with 'SPECIMEN' Overprint (and an extra 1/3d with no gum), Pictorials to £1, 1938-41 Airs, etc, 'OS' punctures including Large 'PAPUA' 2/6d CTO & Monocolours set to 2/6d (the last with no gum), 'OS' Overprints set, also 'Stamp Duty' Small 'PAPUA' 6d x2, Large 'PAPUA' 1d & Monocolours 1d, generally fine to very fine.
SOUTH AFRICA - (Provinces)
NATAL: Embossed VR revenue proofs in white on a rose field on separate pieces of thin card, comprising 2/- (creased), 2/3d, 2/6d, 5/-, £2, £2/10/- & £5. Very attractive.
REVENUES: 1890s-modern array of revenues on 48 documents with numerous stamps on each, noted 1890s Court Fee Elephant bicolours & surcharges, some with annotated varieties & mis-perforations, condition variable.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - Postal History
1941 Jefferson 1c green postal card with typed advertisment for JJ Berliner & Staff, New York report on back sent to Australia with Prexie ½c Franklin tied by New York 'MADISON SQUARE/STATION' machine cancel, Customs Duty 'AUSTRALIA/LONDON' ¼d black & blue unoverprinted revenue affixed at U/L tied on arrival by Adelaide '-3AP41' cds. Printed advertising material 'imported' into Australia was subject to tax; Customs Duty revenue stamps were available at Australian Consulates to pre-pay the tax and avoid recipients being charged postage due.
AUSTRALIAN COLONIES - General
Revenues array with better items from all Colonies/States and the Northern Territory, also a few New Guinea & PNG, lots of unusual bits n pieces including some on piece, security perfins and overprints, etc. A good old-fashioned fun lot.
REVENUES: Batch of early-1960s cheques many with mostly Tasmanian Stamp Duty adhesives affixed.
NEW SOUTH WALES
1885-86 High Value Revenues Overprinted 'POSTAGE' in Black 5/- lilac & green Perf 12x10 SG 238b, well centred, some characteristic rough perfs, large-part o.g., Cat £800. BPA Certificate (2004).
1894-1904 High Value Revenues Overprinted 'POSTAGE' in Blue 10/- violet & claret Perf 11 SG 275a, excellent centring, large-part o.g., Cat £500.
REPRINTS: 'POSTAGE' in Blue 10/- with Seriffed 'O S' & 'Specimen' Overprints both Double One Albino, full unmounted o.g. Superb! [Both overprints being doubled indicates they were printed in the same process]
REPRINTS: Overprinted 'O S' £1 as SG O38 but with seriffed 'O S' & not issued thus, CTO with 'NSW'-in-concentric-ovals.
Stockbook collection with an array of Small Chalons including some better stamps but many are not what they seem, condition variable. Careful inspection recommended. Caveat emptor.
