1950 (Sep 17) Leigh-Parkin airmail cover at 2/- rate from GB via Cable & Wireless at Singapore then by sea with oval 'COCOS IS/PER ("Islander")' b/s and superb strike of the second-type 'C&W LTD/10NOV50/COCOS' arrival b/s. Ex Kim Dwyer. [Strikes of the second Cable & Wireless cds differ in many details from the earlier type. Most obviously, the new cds has the letters 'LTD' all the same size; the earlier cds had smaller & raised 'TD'. The inner circle is 20mm across, compared with 18mm on the earlier cds: see Lot 807]

1950 (Dec 5) surface cover from GB to the postmaster with superb 'ORION/Barrel' & boxed 'COCOS' cachets in violet, the latter with '5JAN51' h/s added. [These are probably the two rarest markings of Cocos. Absent from Kim Dwyer's collection, & David Flaat's cover was unattractive.
