1906 Pictorial Issue with 'POST CARD' at Top Medallion Portrait 1d crimson-lake HG 15var 'Arrowroot Field, Pimpama', 'Botanic Gardens...' (tennis court; underpaid to USA & taxed) 'Jondaryan Woolshed...', fine used. Rare. [These are printed in a distinctive colour not recognised by Higgins & Gage, Phil Collas or Alan Griffiths, despite these three cards being in his collection. We have recorded only a few other examples. In our opinion, they are scarcer than the highly regarded 1905 issue]
VICTORIA - Postal History
1860 wholly printed entire for Fraser & Cohen (Merchants) with lists of Mauritius Sugar & Chinese Tea for sale in bulk, to Melbourne (b/s) with scarce franking of Emblems Vertical Laid Paper Rouletted 2d brown-lilac SG 69a tied by BN '78' of 'ST KILDA' (b/s). [The town rate was 2d but St Kilda was outside the limits for town delivery. It is far more likely that this represented an early concessional Printed Matter rate]
