Very early group comprising Austria 1885 & 1888 2kr Postal Cards with woodcut illustrations of 'Prebischthor' or 'Hoher Schneeberg' (now Pravcicka Brana & Decinsky Sneznik, both in the Czech Republic, the latter with 2-line 'POSTCONDUCTEUR IM ZUGE/KOMOTAU-BODENBACH No 916' Railway postmark); Belgium 1887 early court-size advertising card for "Hotel de la Poste/.../Bruxelles"; Germany 1889 Dresden multi-view, very early hand-tinted; and France 1890 Eiffel Tower chromolitho (repaired corner, stamp removed). ARTIST CARDS: M MUNK (Vienna): early-1900s Divided Backs Erotica "Ah! qu'on s'ennuie!" & "Petit dejeuner matinal", set (?) of 8 with Topless Ladies & Amazing Hats (a few minor blemishes), six of Stylish Ladies with Plain Backs (proofs?, plus one of these designs - Divided Back - used under cover in 1907), unused. NOVELTY: "Instalment Cards" from Great Britain "Progressive Courtship" set of 4 (used in 1904); Austria "Flower Delivery Boy" set of 8 (used in 1899); and Germany "Mountain Village" set of 4 (used in 1898), embossed "Valentine" set of 4 (unused) & World War I "Weltkrieg 1914-16" set of 10 (three used from German Field Post Offices), fine to very fine. Box of mostly chromolitho "Gruss aus" or similar "Pozdrav z" multi-view cards from throughout the Austro-Hungarian Empire including many towns known today by quite different names in what later became Czechoslovakia Poland & Yugoslavia, noted 1897 "Pozdrav z Bohdance" with two small photo-vignettes affixed (!), 1900 "Pozdrav z Votic" x2 different with real photo backs & 1900 "Jericho" with 'JORDAN HOTEL/JERICHO' cachet & Levant 20pa tied by 'JERUSALEM/OSTERREICHISCHE POST' datestamp, mostly 1890s usages - noted from 1894 - with excellent postal history content & many bilingual datestamps, nine are unused, generally fine to very fine. 1892 2kr Postal Cards with five different illustrations for the Internationale Musik- und Theater-Ausstellung in black or shades of brown on the message-side, each with very fine to superb strike of the 'INTN AUSSTLLG/ MUSIK-THEATER/WIEN/27.7.92' commemorative datestamp & two with a Wien arrival cds, also one of the views unused, some minor blemishes. 1894 Silver Jubilee of the Postcard (Correspondenz-Karte) with photo of Emanuel Hermann who persuaded the Post Office to take this step, Wien datestamp of 25.4.94. Superb! Historically important. Ex Keith Harrison.

1894-1900 Court-Size Cards Beechings Ltd: Life in London "Fire !!" (superb unused), "City Bus" & "Shine, Sir?" (both used in 1898), Woodcut multi-view of Bristol by WA Hanson (to Bohemia in 1897, taxed with Austrian 2k & 10k Postage Dues), Black & White of the Tower of London (used to Austria in 1898) & Coloured of the Houses of Parliament (used to France in 1900) both by Alfred Ellis, all but the last with die-cut rounded-corners. Array with many better cards including Undivided Backs x20+ including a few chromolithos & 1890s usages, real photo types x60+ including an interesting group of nighttime scenes, artist cards including Regional Costumes, topographicals predominantly of Budapest but also Abbazia, Orsova, Pancsova, Pozsony & Sopron plus a few rural views, many with early Hungarian stamps & postmarks, a few problems but generally fine to very fine & many are superb. FIUME & TRIESTE: Attractive Fiume group including Undivided Backs x6 (one with Austrian stamp & 'GRUZ/GRAVOSA' cds & two with Hungarian stamps & 'FIUME' cds), two with embossed Flags, etc; Trieste Undivided Back with Domenico Rossetti illustrations on both sides with Austrian stamp & 'TRIEST/ A /TRIESTE' cds, and 1911 busy scene at Grado with Austrian stamp & 'GRADO' cds, one other; and Zara street scene & Dalmatia Costumes x3 all unused but with Zara Overprints on the views; generally fine to very fine.
