SOUTH AUSTRALIA - Postal History
1891 (Dec 22) usage of Austrian 5kr Envelope uprated with 1kt x5 - one on the reverse - & 5kr tied by 'MARBURG' cds, apparently overweight with 'T' h/s & "12½" in blue, to Adelaide but mis-sorted with very fine ' A /PENANG/ JA23/92' b/s & the earliest recorded usage by almost 10 years of the seriffed 'MISSENT/TO PENANG' h/s (Proud #I5) on the face, 'SHIP MAIL ROOM/FE23/92/ADELAIDE SA' arrival cds on the face where '___/MORE TO PAY'-in-oval applied & overstruck with separate '½D.' & '2D.' handstamps. An unusual & delightful cover.
Carton with Austria post-war duplicates in Springback album noted 1950 Birds with 3s & 5s (x4), 10s (x3,1*), also boxes of mint, used, on-piece, and modern year sets plus Europe in envelopes, albums and boxes including GB with KGVI Private Perfin blocks, Germany, Italy, Czechoslovakia, some covers etc. Weighs 10kg.

1881 cover addressed to "Sale, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia" with Franz Josef 10kr blue pairs x2 tied 'MERAN/19/10/81' cds and original letter headed "Marienruhe, Obermais" enclosed, 'BRINDISI/21/10-81' and 'MELBOURNE' transits then by rail to Gippsland with 'DOWN TRAIN/MG2/NO28/81/VICTORIA' octagonal b/s and 'SALE' arrival alongside, minor blemishes. [Meran in the South Tyrol region of Austria was transferred to Italy after WWI and is now known as Merano]
SOUTH ARABIA: 1965 Globe Trading Agencies cover endorsed "Per Second Class Airmail - Registered Sample of No Commercial Value", to Austria with 75f Arms solo franking, 'CRATER/B/15SP/65/ADEN' d/s and blue/white R label, flap unsealed for inspection, green Customs Declaration form on face stating "1 plastic bag" and 'Zollfrei' [Duty Free] cachet applied on arrival, Vienna b/s of 21.9.65.
