1911-52 Issues virtually complete as per Leuchtturm hingeless pages missing only 1912 Perf 8xImperf 1c & 1924 ImperfxPerf 8 3c, includes Postage Dues, Special Delivery & Official Overprints, mostly with large-part o.g. - the 50c "Bluenose" is unmounted - but some are regummed, Cat £4000+.(Qty 250+)
1945 (Feb 22) cover to Western Australia with Canadian security machine cancellation & sender's Vancouver address on the reverse, the stamp fallen-off in transit, the cover & enclosed letter partly burned & charred around the edges, endorsed on the face "Rec June 1st 1945/after being Damaged by Fire on ship/and/explosion at/Vancouver/BC". The first item we have seen from this maritime incident. [Hoggarth & Gwynn at page 282 state that on 6/3/1945, the "Greenhill Park" exploded following a fire in the hold. 8 people were killed. 135 bags of mail were destroyed or damaged. Rated B: less than 20 covers recorded, all addressed to Australia]
