Zeppelin covers comprising Germany 1929 1.Amerikafahrt with 4mk Zeppelin; 1929 Switzerland-Roumania with Schweizerflug cachet in red; 1936 Europa-Nordamerika from Czechoslovakia; & Germany 1936 Olympiafahrt, a few faults.

Collection of commemorative flight covers with the strongest section related to the 1919 Vickers "Vimy" England-Australia flight including 1929 10th Anniversary PPC, 1934 MacRobertson Air Race PPC of the 1919 flight route, and an extensive array of 1969 50th Anniversary covers & stamps from many countries, also material related to Harry Butler, Harry Hawker (including two PPCs) and Kingsford Smith including photographs of funeral services (noted 1922 real photo PPC of Ross Smith's funeral), memorials & aircraft etc. Impossible to duplicate.
C of A - Flight Covers
1920 (July 30) Melbourne-Traralgon AAMC #47 with KGV 1½d red-brown cancelled on arrival with 'TRARALGON/30JL20/VIC' cds, fine example of the violet/yellow 'By/HERALD/AERIAL/DELIVERY' label Frommer #2a tied to the reverse by 'HERALD & WEEKLY TIMES' "clock" cds in violet, overall soiling, Cat $1500. [Most covers bear States issues and are obviously philatelic. This appears to be a commercial item]
1921 postcard-size photo of the CJ de Garis' biplane at Alice Springs before departure for Adelaide minor creasing & blemishes. See AAMC #55.
1921 (Dec 4) overpaid philatelic cover to Broome with values to 1/- tied by oval 'REGISTERED/ 2DE21/PERTH WA' d/s & red/black registration label, fine strike of the 'PERTH DERBY/4DE21/WA/ AERIAL MAIL' cds at upper-left AAMC #56a, light strike of triple-oval 'POST & TELEGRAPH DEPT/19DEC1921/POSTMASTER BROOME' arrival b/s in violet, vertical fold passes between stamps. [A series of mishaps resulted in the mail being returned to Perth & despatched by sea]
1927 (July 1) Cloncurry-Normanton AAMC #106 with non-contemporary autograph "Hudson Fysh/ Pilot", and (July 27) Normanton-Cessnock, both signed by a postmaster.

1930 (Feb) registered cover Melbourne to "Daly Waters/N.Aus" endorsed "via Brisbane-Camooweal" AAMC #151 with 'DALY WATERS/20FE29/N.T.' arrival b/s, readdressed to Melbourne with another strike of the Daly Waters cds of 21FE29 on the face, Cat $250+.
1931 (June 6) Lord Howe Island-Sydney AAMC #184a with 3d Air & 3d Kingsford Smith (fault) tied by 'LORD HOWE ISLAND/NSW' cds, 3-line cachet on face signed by the pilot "Francis Chichester" & with his additional endorsement on the flap (which has not been sealed and can thus be opened for display), tiny blemishes, Cat $550 (2002).
1933 (Sep 30) Aero Club of NSW "Aerial Pageant" blue/bluish postcard AAMC #330 with KGV ½d orange pair tied by 'MASCOT/NSW' cds & signed by the winning pilot "GUReid"; and black/yellow label Frommer #45a (no gum).
1941-48 Qantas Mornington Island Christmas parachute mails complete with different-coloured QANTAS labels, all but the 1946 cover signed by the pilots & all signed on the reverse by the local missionary, the first two from Brisbane & the others from Sydney, Cat $725. [NB: There were no such flights in 1944 & 1945] (Qty 6)
1945 1945-48 post-WWII Qantas re-opening flights from Australia to Ceylon (no Qantas label), Singapore (aerogramme with overprint in purple), England, Japan & South Africa, the last 3 with special Qantas labels, all signed by the pilot(s)
1945 (April 2) Sydney-Lae & Lae-Sydney covers AAMC #1002-3 each with Qantas "Re-opening Flight!" label Frommer #61a, signed by pilots "HWDeignan" or Deignan & "AJacobson", Cat $500.
1949 1949 (March & June) Qantas Sydney-Hong Kong 'FIRST CHARTER FLIGHT' AAMC #1204 & 'FIRST REGULAR SERVICE' #1218 with red & black or blue & black labels Frommer #81a & 83a (tonespot), both signed by pilot, Cat $275.
AIRMAIL LABELS & "CINDERELLAS": Extensive annotated study of the definitive blue & white air mail labels - first introduced in 1930 - including panes, large blocks & sheets.Noted various types of rouletting, printing & rouletting varieties, 1940s issues on coloured papers etc, and usage on covers. Surprising variety in the types from the 1970s including instructions at top of the sheets or on the reverse, large types for parcels (including a couple used on standard envelopes) etc. Also five A4-size Sands & McDougall proof sheets. A fascinating collection.
AIRMAIL LABELS & "CINDERELLAS": 1920-22 Cinderellas comprising "Herald" labels in brown Frommer #3a (large-part o.g.) or blue #5a (unused) and "Pals" label in red #4a (marginal, unused), Cat $450.
