Fascinating group featuring ghastly punishments including torture, executions - one a real photo of decapitated bodies - including "Linchi: cutting into pieces" (!), funeral processions, graves, an opium den, "The Ceremony of feeding the great Chinese Dragon" etc, some are Hong Kong or Macau cards, condition generally fine to very fine. 1883-99 Overseas Usages with illustrated advertising comprising 1d brown for Bennett's Tube Plate Cutter (1883, to USA) & London & Newcastle Scholastic Society (1888, to Switzerland), and 1d red for American Redfern Dress & Habit Makers (1892, to USA), George Titterton Safes (1893, to China with 'HONG-KONG' datestamp) & Pulsometer Ice Machines (1896, appropriately to India), very fine. Group mostly by local producers Hong Kong Pictorial Postcard Co, Graeco Egyptian Tobacco Store, Turco-Egyptian Tobacco Store x2, C Fiens, M Steinberg, MA & Co, Lau Ping Kee x7, Yee Wo Shing x3, also sepia views 'Made in Japan' x5, good range of subjects including punishments, street vendors, "Filter beds, Bowen Road", panoramic views, Chinese festival, Chinese coffin etc, generally fine to very fine, all but one unused.
