FRENCH POST OFFICES: 1874 cover to Paris "Voie Anglaise/par Brindisi" with East India 8p purple, 2a orange & 4a green tied by two largely very fine strikes of the 'PONDICHERRY/APR:17 - M-19' duplex with superb 'PD' h/s in black alongside, transit b/s of 'SHOLAPORE/9APR', 'BOMBAY/20AP' & an incomplete Sea Post Office cds, minor repaired tear at the top clear of the stamps, docketed at U/L "Karikal 13 Avril".
ADEN: 1895 Cowasjee Dinshaw & Bros quintuple-rate cover (2Ża x5) to UK with India QV 2a blue, 2a6p green pair and 8a violet tied 'ADEN/MY29/95' squared-circle, 'NORTHWICK/JU10/95' arrival b/s, couple of minor edge marks.

ADEN: 1903 (May 24) cover with crest of the 2nd Btn Royal Dublin Fusiliers to Hertfordshire with India QV 1a tied by very fine 'DTHALI' cds, Aden transit b/s of MY26/03 & 'BARNEY/JU6/03' arrival b/s. PO 15.3.1903; closed 14.3.1907. [The troops were sent from Aden to discourage the Turks in Yemen from invading Aden's Western Protectorate. The last troops were withdrawn 30.10.1907. The cover is from the Commanding Officer, Lt-Col HT Hicks, to his wife]
