1942 (Aug 17) cover to Jamaica endorsed "Seamail to America then airmail to Jamaica" with KGVI 3d brown & 1/- Lyrebird tied 'MORNINGTON/VIC' cds, Melbourne censor label & cachet on face, carried by ship to USA and onwards by domestic & PanAm West Indies airmail services with 'HALF-WAY-TREE/SE28/42/JAMAICA' arrival b/s, couple of minor blemishes. [The Pacific Clipper service to USA had been suspended after the Pearl Harbour attack on 8.12.1941; the ½d War Tax did not apply to airmail articles, even if this was only required for part of the journey]
1944 (May 10) cover to Colombia endorsed "Air Mail Via USA" with KGVI 1/4d x2 tied Sydney cancel & censored locally, carried by ship to USA, by domestic & PanAm airmail services to the Canal Zone, by PANAGRA to Colombia and AVIANCA to destination with 'CORREO AEREO/13.VI.1944/BOGOTA' arrival b/s, fine condition. [SCADTA had been renamed AVIANCA in 1940 after all the German employees were dismissed and replaced with PanAm personnel; the ½d War Tax did not apply to airmail articles, even if this was only required for part of the journey]
