1900 'GLORIA MUNDI' patriotic envelope with 'The Star-Spangled Banner' & 'The Old Union Jack' printed on the reverse, central fold & a little soiled; the same design on PPC used at 'WOLFVILLE/NS'; the same design with 'LEAGUE' added below 'ANGLO-SAXON' & advert on the reverse for GM Farrington Tailor (Picton Ont); and 1903 'THE MAPLE LEAF FOREVER' envelope used at Toronto; the first to GB, the others to USA. Very attractive.

Group of covers including Transvaal Mynpacht (Luipaard's Vlei) Gold Mining Company envelope with Arms 2d & 6d tied 'KRUGERSDORP ZAR/AU 22 91' and Gold Fields of South Africa long envelope (folded) with Arms 4d x4 tied 'JOHANNESBURG/JA24/91' cds both to London at pre-UPU rates, 1897 to Holland with Arms ½d x3 & 1d x6 taxed 'T/("25")/CENTIMES' octagonal h/s (spotty), couple of Boer War items with 'BRITISH ARMY' cds, also Cape of Good Hope 1903 'MONEY ORDER' receipt with 'RONDEBOSCH' cds and Orange Free State 1894 'BRIEF KAART' with 1d brown and 'KRUIDFONTEIN/OVS' fancy squared circle & 'GARDENS/TO' [Telegraph Office] cds on face, condition mixed but mostly fine.
CAPE OF GOOD HOPE: CAPE OF GOOD HOPE: 1900 (June) internal English cover to Market Harboro but missent to South Africa where 1d lilac tied by GPO Cape Town & part-British FPO cds, endorsed on the flap "Found in a bag of newspapers addressed/to Imperial Yeomanry South Africa/[signature]/for Controller CB" with largely very fine strike of the rare double-oval 'CONTROLLER'S OFFICE, CIRCULATION BRANCH/13JUN1900/GPO CAPE TOWN' datestamp in violet alongside, returned to England with very fine 'MARKET-HARBOROUGH' arrival b/s, minor blemishes.
CAPE OF GOOD HOPE: 1901 cover from 'COLESBERG' to "Commandant/Graff Reinett" with huge 'OFFICE OF COMMANDANT No 11 AREA.../COLESBERG' cachet in blue & very fine 'PASSED PRESS CENSOR/25DEC1901/ GRAAFF REINET' cachet (Christmas Day) in violet, forwarded to "Middelburg" (b/s) then to Cape Town ('..ARMY BASE CAPE TOWN' b/s), 'NO ADDRESS/ARMY POST OFFICE' cachet & apparently endorsed "Killed" & forwarded to "Longwood/ Victoria" with poor 'LONGWOOD RLY STN' & fine 'LONGWOOD EAST' arrival b/s. A remarkable Boer War cover. [The endorsement "Killed" is actually "Killeen", the Chomley Family property at Longwood!]

QUEENSLAND: 1900 Boer War Charity 1d & 2d tied to local philatelic cover by 'GEORGE STREET/SP29/00/QUEENSLAND' cds, unusually fine.
QUEENSLAND: 1900 Boer War Charity 1d & 2d + Lined Background 1d x2 on OHMS cover to "Railway Station/ Winton/QNR", poor strikes of the badly worn First Type BN '368' of 'RICHMOND' (very fine cds at U/L) & very fine 'REGISTERED/RICHMOND' h/s, superb 'HUGHENDEN' transit & fine 'WINTON' arrival b/s, light bends clear of the stamps. Used five weeks after issue and correctly rated, making this as close as we have seen to a commercial cover. However, it must be queried if the Charities were available at outback post offices. [Richmond is more than 500km W of Bowen]

VICTORIA: 1900 Boer War Patriotic Fund 2d on 1905 philatelic but correctly rated cover to Adelaide, two strikes of 'MOONEE PONDS/MR22/O5/VICTORIA' cds, Adelaide transit & Norwood arrival b/s, light central vertical fold.
NEW SOUTH WALES - Postal History
1900 homemade wrapper to "JP McGlinn/Adjutant & Quartermaster/New South Wales/Mounted Infantry HQ/South Africa" with 1d Arms - creased - tied by 'NEWCASTLE/DE19/00/NSW' cds, minor blemishes. Inwards mail to Boer War troops is very scarce.
Modest range with a few apparently unused Chalons & a lovely 20/- that is a modern forgery!, 1897-1905 mint set, very fine mint Charity set, etc, condition of the pre-1890 material is very mixed.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA - Postal History
Balance of Charles Lawlor's collection with many useful items including 1847 & 1854 pre-stamps to London or Ireland with '[crown]/GENERAL/POST OFFICE/PERTH' h/s in black or red, 1855 to Kent with Penny Black x2 & 4d that probably don't belong, 1883 OHMS with '[crown]/REGISTERED' & 'ADVERTISED/AND/UNCLAIMED' h/s, 1884 mourning cover to England with 9-bar '2' cancel tying 6d mauve, 1885 to London with 15-bar '13' on 6d mauve & 25mm 'GERALDTON' cds, 1890 with 1888 1d x2 tied by 15-bar '23' & 'GINGIN' cds, 1896 stampless OHMS with Lands & Survey dated cachet, 1901 Boer War cover from a serviceman in South Africa, a few advertising items, Paquebot covers including 1893 with GB 2½d pair tied by Albany duplex, etc; plus some non-WA items, condition very mixed. Inspection recommended.

1902 piece from a British newspaper to "CM Moir/Euro Gold Mines Ltd/Laverton" from where forwarded to "Military Office/Perth" where readdressing label to South Africa affixed & tied by two fine strikes of the scarce 'MILITARY OFFICE/...' Frank h/s in violet & 'PAID/OFFICIALLY/WEST AUSTRALIA' h/s. A remarkable Boer War item.
