Steel mailbag seal inscribed 'KAISERLICH-DEUTSCHE POST/[crown]/KAEWIENG/ (DEUTSCHE-/NEU GUINEA)/[posthorn]', the steel a little rusty & the top of the wooden handle broken-off but still quite serviceable. An extremely desirable artefact. [A similar non-postal brass seal for the Government Station at Stephansort sold at our auction of 29.6.2016 for $1860]
Brass (?) seal inscribed 'KAISERLICHES GOUVERNEMENTS HAUPTKASSE/[eagle]/RABAUL' (= Treasury) with the manufacturer's name 'THEODOR KAISER/BERLIN SW12' inscribed on brass pin at top of the wooden handle. Another rare artefact. [The eagle is a lovely example of the die-sinker's art]
1889 commercial cover to Germany with German 20pf x2 tied by two fine strikes of the 'FINSCHHAFEN/15 4/89' cds, 'TRIER/1 6/89' arrival b/s, a little aged with minor toning around the stamps & a few small repaired peripheral tears. [The sender was Neu-Guinea Compagnie employee Eugen Dollman, to his father. Dollman arrived in August 1888 & died at Finschhafen in October 1891]

1904 usage of PPC ("Landschaft bei Nusa") with the message headed "SS Gotha" (?), to NSW with 5pf only tied by 'MATUPI' cds, rare 'T.'-in-octagon h/s over mss "6¼cts", CofA Filled Tablet 1d Postage Due with blue cross cancel.
INWARDS MAIL: 1890 Bavarian 10pf Postal Card to Stephansort, 1897 triple-rate cover from NSW, 1905 uprated Russian Postal Card to "Sattelberg/bei Finschhafen", 1906 re-use of German 2pf+3pf Postal Card with 5pf Yacht added, 1908 uprated Austrian Postal Card, 1910 PPC from Japan, and three others, condition variable.
INWARDS MAIL: usage of Hong Kong '4 CENTS' on 3c Postal Card (reply half) to the ship's doctor aboard SMS "Möwe" c/- the German Consulate at Matupi with superb 'AMOY/ A /FE20/00' cds & Hong Kong transit cds, apparently missent to Sydney where endorsed in red "Matupi/New Britain", full message headed "Amoy ab SMS Irene 12 II 00", some soiling & repaired tear at right. Ex Murray Collins: sold for $935 at the Macray Watson sale of 31/3/1998.

Deutsch Neu-Guinea 6mm Spacing '1d.' on 5pf with Short '1' SG 2b (a bit aged, Ceremuga Certificate) & '2½d.' on 10pf (very fine, unmounted), 5mm Spacing '3d.' on 25pf x2 (one with hinge remainder; the other with a rounded corner) & '5d.' on 50pf (short perfs), Cat £1150.
1914-15 6mm Spacing '1d.' on 5pf, '2½d.' on 10pf, '2½d.' on 20pf (unmounted) & '3d.' on 30pf SG 2 5 6 & 8, lightly mounted, Cat £750+.
1915 'G.R.I./3d.' on German Registration Labels selection comprising 'Rabaul/(Deutsch Neuguinea)' SG 33 x3, 'Herbertshohe/(Deutsch Neuguinea)' SG 36, 'Manus/(Deutsch Neuguinea)' SG 39, Seriffed Town Name 'Friedrich-Wilhelmshafen/(Deutsch-Neuguinea)' SG 41 & 'Kawieng/(Deutsch Neuguinea)' SG 42 x7, condition rather mixed, a few with part-o.g., Cat £3400+. Unusual opportunity.

1914 Overprints on Marshall Islands selection comprising '1d.' on 5pf x3 (one with '1' & 'd' Wider Spaced SG 51e, ink mark on the face, Ceremuga Certificate), Second Setting '2d.' on 10pf pair  & block of 5 [9-10], and '2d.' on 20pf x12 (all plated), condition a bit variable, Cat £900+.
1914 Overprints on Marshall Islands '1d.' on 3pf brown with Flat Top on '1' SG 50c being all units in the first & second columns of an upper-left corner block of 15 (3x5) with Plate Number '1', variable centring, unmounted, Cat £2350++ (mounted). An exceptional specialist piece.

1914 (late) philatelic cover with German New Guinea 5pf x16 tied by nine good to very fine strikes of the defaced 'KAISERLICHES BEZIRKSGERICHT/[Eagle]/FRIEDRICH-WILHELMSHAFEN' court seal & another clear strike on the reverse, central horizontal fold clear of the stamps.
POSTAL CARDS: DNG '1d.' on 5pf two different & '2d.' on 10pf x3 (one CTO), and Marshalls '1d.' on 5pf, a few minor blemishes, unused.
