Five original old-time albums in various states of decrepitude (one apparently feasted-on by rats!) but with most of the cards unaffected, strong Australian content mostly from Victoria - an excellent component of Geelong & District - & NSW (especially Sydney Harbour nooks & crannies & Blue Mountains), artist cards including by JA Turner, overseas array of mostly British cards including Royalty, Army Regiments & lots of Scottish cards, New Zealand including "Wreck of SS Kaipara...", etc etc, condition variable with many in the heavily chewed album being defective but otherwise the condition is generally fine to superb. An hour to view will be time well spent.

Superior group from NSW with Agriculural Show types for Sydney Bega & Yass and "Opening of Sydney Harbour Bridge"; South Australia with "A Fire Alarm - Racing to the Scene" & Trans-Australian Railway "Meeting of Tracklayers from East & West"; Victoria "Proposed Anglican Church at Meredith", squatter & horse living in a tree stump!!, 1934 Frankston Scout Jamboree multi-response type, Summerscales "Eureka Monument, Ballarat"; etc, & a few WWI including "Morning Parade No 16 AGH Mont Park" & a group of coalers aboard HMAS "Australia"; several are real photo types; also scenic Postal Cards x13 including 1911 Coronation 1d x3 CTO & Queensland 1d "Botanic Gardens" (tennis court), etc; condition a bit mixed, many are unused.
Four volume collection with New South Wales x128 with a few Undivided Backs, strength in Sydney & the Harbour plus useful country including real photos of "Hospital Friday" in Grafton and multi-views of Walgett & Penrith/Nepean Hospitals; Queensland x36 including for 1908 Franco-British Exhibition x7; South Australia x16; Tasmania x24 with real photos x12 including 1925 multi-view for Centenary of St Mary's Church at New Norfolk; Victoria x56 including two very early Undivided Backs (Jolley ?) & a few real photos including "Scene at Mallacoota House" (Whale Bones at Entrance); and Western Australia x24 including 'semi-officials' "Orchard at Mt Barker...", "Young Horses Newmarracarra Estate Geraldton" & "A Copper Mine" and "Hotel Esplanade, Perth" advertising card; also Aboriginal subjects x10 including real photo of a woven basket; condition variable but generally fine to very fine.
1901 "Links of Empire" Series for the Royal Visit by the Duke & Duchess of York to Open the First Federal Parliament in Melbourne on 9th May 1901 comprising No 6 (kangaroo), 7 ("Parliament House, Adelaide"), 8 ("Sydney Harbour") & 9 ("Brisbane"), the first with Melbourne cds of 6.5.01, the others with cds of the relevant cities. Very scarce. [See also Lots 204 & 205]

1908 Visit of the American "Great White Fleet" comprising real photos of arrival in Sydney x2 (one hand-tinted) & in Melbourne, Walter Davies Celebrations x2, Kimbel & Co and Crown Studios Military Review, Martin Place Bedecked, hand-tinted "On Deck of Connecticut" and four patriotic types, mostly unused & generally fine to very fine. Ex Bronte Watts. [At the time, the crowds in Sydney & Melbourne were the largest ever experienced in Australia]
MILITARY BOER WAR: Cards featuring NSW & Victorian troops with Boer War captions x5, related but later types with divided backs x7 including two real photo types noted as Troops Returned from the Boer War, and three Australian patriotic cards (that illustrated above is a front panel only), condition variable. Ex Bronte Watts.
PATRIOTISM: 1926 PC Beer Australia Day "Remember the Dardenelles" with vignettes of Sergt ER Larkin MLA & Cammeray Public School (NSW), priced at 3d, a little aged & tiny fault at lower-right, minor blemishes on the address-side, unused. [Kevin Crotty's very fine example sold at the Prestige auction of 8/5/2013 for $575]
POST OFFICES: Selection from New South Wales x16, Queensland x2 and Victoria x9, some real photo types; also "Cable Station Port Darwin"; generally fine to very fine, some are unused.
SPORT RUGBY: "The Light Blues 1907" New South Wales rugby team, used in New Zealand, minor blemishes.
AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
Outstanding array of Canberra cards including sketches by A Joyce Bowden of "Acton House...Built by the First Pioneers 1826" & "Duntroon House, Built by Robert Campbell 1829" x2, many real photos including several by RC Strangman with various panoramas of Canberra or Duntroon including a two-panel panoramic card & the War Memorial with nothing else anywhere near it, 1927 (May 9) Opening of Parliament House x3 including photograph of Setting Up the Dais plus others of the Interior, "The Prime Minister's Residence" & "Government House", early Building Works at the University & others of early buildings in the District, "Telopia park school", several of Hotel Canberra plus Hotel Kurrajong and Hotel Wellington, outlying districts with Mount Stromlo Observatory x2, Cotter Dam x11, etc, some with plain backs, mostly unused & generally very fine to superb. pre-1927 selection of real photo types comprising Howard & Shearsby (Yass) 1913 "Singing the Old Hundredth Hymn" at Laying of the Foundation Stone for the New Capital City, four of early buildings at Duntroon Military College - one by Howard & Shearsby - including "Officers Mess" & "Professors' Residences", two panoramas including c.1927 with Parliament House Completed & Early Residential Developments, also Parliament House Under Construction & Completed (Strangman), finally "Bridge on Molonglo river, Canberra", very fine to superb unused. JERVIS BAY: Real photo types comprising four aerial shots (one dated 1939 with six points of interest identified by the writer), two of Base Accommodation plus "The Canberra Guest House" & "Foley's Hotel", also the Hospital, "The Swimming Pool & the Viking", "RAN College Jervis Bay - Employees Camp", "The Warships at Jervis Bay", the Naval Band Dawdling to Church Parade, & a fantastic shot of naval ratings in a long boat with their challenge to champion racehorse Phar Lap, a few with plain backs including a c.1960s humorous card, fine to superb unused, Ex Coo-ee Picture Library. [Jervis Bay is on the NSW south coast. In 1915, it was proclaimed part of the Federal Capital Territory with the purpose of being Canberra's sea port!! It is best known for the Royal Australian Navy shore base, HMAS "Cresswell"]

Historical mostly real photo group for 1908 Visit of the US Fleet, 1918 Victory Celebrations x3, 1920 Royal Visit, 1932 Anzac Day, Sydney Harbour Bridge Under Construction x4 & Opening x3 plus eleven small photographs of the construction, 1941 Welcome to HMAS "Sydney", etc, also a few unrelated cards, generally fine to very fine. Unidentified towns & buildings, mostly Kerry Aboriginal cards, real photo types including "Randwick: The Lawn" with an enormous crowd, Horse & Carts for Milk Deliveries or 'EXPRESS PARCEL DELIVERY', 1907 "The Sculling Championship of the World" etc, also photographs including terrific Sydney Morning Herald WWII shot of Soldiers Taking a Break, condition variable but most are fine to very fine. 1923 Plane Crash Simpson & Bell (Tweed Heads) real photo "Accident to G-AUBL 23.1.1923" (Gawking On-Lookers, the Plane Literally Split in Half), faint bend, unused. Ex Coo-ee Picture Library. [This incident took place at Greenmount & was caused by the pilot swerving to avoid children who ran across his path. The pilot, Edgar Wikner Percival, served in the Middle East with the AIF & was accepted into the Royal Flying Corps. In 1919 he established a successful aviation business at Richmond (NSW) & later became a highly respected aircraft designer]
STEREO CARDS: Selection of Rose cards for 1) 1901 Federation Celebrations x7 including Swearing-In Ceremony, Review of Troops, Wool Arch & French Arch etc; and 2) 1908 Visit of the American Fleet x15 including Ships, Official Reception, Fire Brigades Procession, Sailors Marching through Sydney, Children's Flag Drill, etc; some minor blemishes mostly on the backing-cards, the views generally very fine to superb! SYDNEY & SUBURBS: Scarcer streetscapes including "Pitt St", "William Street", "Moore St" (Hansom Cabs), "Bent Street", "Phillip St" (Hansom Cabs) & "King Street" (Trams), also "Offices of the Sydney Harbour Trust", "Sydney Observatory" & "Royal Prince Alfred Hospital" (ward activity); then an excellent suburban group - no beaches or harbour views - including a fantastic Kerry of a crowded "Pyrmont Bridge", "Belmore Markets", "Corpus Christi Festival Manly 1909", "Sacred Heart Convent, Randwick", "Royal Agricultural Show" 3-panel panorama, "Centennial Park" (hawker's cart), fire stations at Arncliffe, Balmain & Drummoyne, "Wonderland City, Bondi" x8 etc etc. And on top of all that, they're generally fine to very fine.
