1894 linen-lined cover (174x127mm) with 'KAISERLICH DEUTSCHES KONSULAT/[eagle]/MELBOURNE' wafer on the reverse, registered to the German Consulate at Auckland, scarce franking of 1d orange & 1/- brown-red tied by 'R' cancels, Auckland arrival b/s, minor blemishes.

1945 flapless cover to a Cook Islander serving with the NZ Forces in the Middle East, 'D/3' on 1½d x3 tied by Rarotonga cds, readdressed on arrival. The first such item we have seen.
POSTAGE DUES: 1943 unstamped New Zealand Patriotic Fund Board envelope to "Ba Rarawai" with 'NADI' cds & mss "T5d" in red, 'LAUTOKA' transit & 'BA' arrival b/s, Postage Due 5d green tied by Ba cds, Cat £85 x15+ on cover. [Gerald Patterson's 1940 internal cover with Postage Due 1d sold for $920, and his 1940 inwards cover with Postage Due 2d sold for $1150 at our auction of 12/10/2012]
