1914 (Apr 1) OHMS cover with printed registration lines (all segments on the reverse out of alignment!) & 'R'-in-circle in red at upper-left & 'Treasury/Hobart' imprint at lower-left, Kangaroo 4d orange perf 'T' tied by Hobart cds, scarce blue & black/white registration label. [The 'T' perfin for Tasmanian Government mail was effected in two operations requiring the sheet to be turned through 90 degrees. Many aberrant perfins resulted: in this instance the perfin appears to be an inverted & reversed 'L']

1921 (May 4) OHMS cover to Ultimo with rare franking of KGV Rough Paper 5d chestnut with Damaged Upper-Right Corner BW #124f (Cat $1000 on cover, with significant premium for the variety: Cat $400 compared with $175 for a normal stamp) tied by light Sydney cds well clear of the variety, red/white registration label, a couple of very minor blemishes. [This is one of the most appealing covers bearing this stamp: it is not from the WA Titles Office hoard & we have noted only one other cover franked with a listed variety of this scarce stamp]

1907 (Aug 26) usage of South Australian Post & Telegraph Department OHMS cover to England with superb 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE/ADELAIDE' cds in rosine & Thin 'POSTAGE' 4d Perf 12 perf 'OS' - paying the double-rate - affixed & tied by Adelaide cds, 'HONITON' arrival b/s. A most unusual usage. [The printer's imprint shows 20,000 envelopes were printed on 13/7/1907. The ACSC prices the normal 4d on cover at $300. However, perf 'OS' frankings (which are not priced on cover) are much scarcer than the normal stamps]

A great shame. [We are aware of a client having recently purchased a cover bearing a 1 grey - not a perfin - for $9000] [** This lot is in the wrong section. It should be under "5.9.139 to 9.12.1941 Reversion to pre All-Up Rates" with Lots 1141-1144. We apologise for this unfortunate error **]
