1931 cover to Commissioner for Railways in Brisbane (b/s) with rare franking of Kingsford Smith 2d (small faults) & 3d both overprinted 'OS' tied by 'PARLIAMENT HOUSE CANBERRA/FCT' cds & blue/black 'PARLIAMENT HSE/FCT' registration label (defective) alongside. A remarkable & highly desirable cover. [The ACSC prices the 2d & 3d on cover at $1000 & $2000 respectively]
1933 WA Railways OHMS airmail cover to Port Hedland with extraordinary franking of 3d Air Type A perf 'OS' L-strip of 3 - a single is catalogued at $400 on cover - and 6d Air overprinted 'OS' pair all tied by Perth cds, the adhesives are particularly well centred, a minor tear at lower-right barely detracts. A rare and desirable cover. [The vendor paid $750 at our auction of 9/3/2002].

1872 long OHMS cover (267x115mm) with 'Education Office/Adelaide' imprint at lower-left & rare but defective franking of De La Rue Perf 10 2d overprinted 'E.B.' tied by poor GPO cds, Kapunda arrival b/s, faults.
1893 National Bank cover to Scotland with '2½d.' on Perf 15 4d green SG 233 tied by GPO duplex of SE13/93, British 'CARLISLE & AYR/OC16/93/SORTING TENDER' transit b/s. [Gibbons states SG 233 was issued 14/10/1993; this is one full month earlier]

RECEIVED OPEN: manuscript "Received open at Ararat" & in red "Received open at" + small 'MAFEKING' handstamp both on the reverse of scarce 'One Penny' on 2d Letter Card Stieg LC12 (Cat $US300) used in 1903 from 'MOYSTON', Ararat transit & 'MAFEKING' arrival b/s, minor soiling. [The letter within written in Hebrew]

Group of philatelic registered covers comprising 1895 to Tasmania with Federation set (aged); Aitutaki 1913 with 5 values to 1/- & cds in rosine on the registration label and 1934 with KGV 1/-; Niue 1905 long cover with values including Birds set & 1935 with Jubilee set; and Penrhyn 1902 with ½d 1d & 2½d cancelled at Rarotonga, and 1915 with 6 values to 1/-; generally fine. PENRHYN: 1910 commercial cover to France with Overprints 2½d pair (underpaid ½d) & large registration label with "PENRHYN/ISLAND" in rosine, 'U.S. SEA POST/REG' transit b/s in blue.
1914 large official local cover (253x130mm) with rare franking of "O.H.H.S." 5m SG O79 (Cat £325 x5+) & No Value chestnut (fault) tied by 'ALEXANDRIA/R.S./9IX14' cds, 'PORTS & LIGHT- HOUSES ADMINISTRATION' cachet & light 'Registered' h/s both in blue, two folds well clear of the stamps & a repaired fault at base. Ex Byam. RPSofL Certificate (1939) as the then SG O10c.

Postal Cards x33, including 1895 1d 1d+1d & 1½d all used 24/MAY/95 (the day before the official release date), KGV 1½d unused used & 'SPECIMEN'; Letter Cards (5, including 1½d Pirogue used, and KGV 2d unused used - philatelic - & 'SPECIMEN'); ¼d Wrapper unused, used x2 (one uprated) & 'SPECIMEN'; and Envelopes including KGV 1d x4 different unused + two used, 2d grey unused used & 'SPECIMEN'); mostly fine to very fine. 1923 (Oct 19) commercial cover (213x134mm) to a Catholic missionary at "Doilon (Madang)/New Guinea via Australia" absolutely festooned on both sides with 90 (yes, ninety) Hyper-Inflation adhesives comprising 75,000mk on 1000mk blocks of 12 & 60! (folded to the back), 100,000mk x6 & 2,000,000mk on 5000mk x12 all cancelled with 'KALDENKIRCHEN/(RHEINLAND)' cds, a bit soiled/ aged. A truly amazing cover, with a total franking of 30 million marks! [Deulon was on Alexishafen, about 16km north of Madang]
1940s bundle of mostly pedestrian covers and postal stationery predominantly Allied Occupation era with frankings to 2mk plus registered covers and philatelic mail, also some WWII covers with Hitler Head frankings including 'UKRAINE' overprints on four registered covers, condition very mixed. [In 1902, Goudin, Coutanceau & Co sold the island's electricity generator to Fanucci, Adam & Co]
