COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA
Mint & used collections both with no Roos but then almost complete simplified from KGV Heads to 2000 including 5/- Bridge mint & CTO, the Kingsford Smith 'OS' overprints CTO only, also AAT issues complete & some Postage Dues, considerable face value in the Decimals, some minor toning but condition generally fine.
1913-1965 Used Collection on pages (no Kangaroos) with 6d Engraved, KGV Heads apparently complete by wmk & perforation also a few shades, varieties & inverted watermarks, complete 'OS' overprints & some 'OS' punctures including SMult Wmk Perf 13½x12½ 4½d violet, then complete from 1930s onwards with 5/- Bridge, Commems 'OS' punctures & overprints, Robes both papers, Navigators including white papers, BCOF overprints set, range of Postage Dues with values to 5/-, selected quality almost all with cds cancels, generally fine to very fine.
1930s-1980s Accumulation with many imprint blocks and part-sheets noted KGV Jubilee 2d plate number blocks set (6) **, KGVI ½d Roo CofA wmk coil pair ** with coil starter (960) strip, Robes 5/- thin paper Authority imprint block **, AIF 6d McCracken imprint block used, also a few Postage Dues, then array of mint Decimals up to early 1980s with fair bit of face value, minor toning on some earlies but condition generally fine.
LITERATURE: Tub of Australian titles with good Military content including key works by Proud, Emery (both volumes), Collas and Little plus Colonies including "Australian Mails via Suez" by Kirk, "NSW TPOs" by Peck, NSW "Maritime Mails" & "Train Mails" both by Tobin & Orchard, etc.
C of A - Other Pre-Decimals
1963-65 Navigators £1 Bass Cream Paper block of 30 (10x3) from top of the sheet with margins on three sides, some minor toning, Sydney cds but full o.g. Presumably a bulk payment of postage due.

Dealer's stockbook stated to include Blank Tablet to 5/- plus Perf 11x11½-12 1d & 2d, Filled Tablets 3d & 4d strips of 3 plus Perf 11 values to 6d x2, Stroke 5/- x2, extensive array of Bicolours with some multiples including Third Wmk 4d corner block of 6, CofA Wmk Perf 11 3d, No Wmk 5d Die II x6, etc, mostly with postal cancellations, condition variable but generally fine to very fine. Inspection recommended.

1902-04 Filled Tablet ½d to 20/- complete with sans serif 'SPECIMEN' Overprint, very lightly mounted (several may be unmounted), Cat $2100 (£1100). An exceptional set. Advertised retail "POR". [Far superior to the "Shades of Green" set - a few blemishes & hinge remainders - that sold at the Prestige auction of 2.8.2013 for $1437]
1907 Crown/Double-Lined A ½d dull green with the Watermark Inverted (as usual) BW #D56 marginal block of 48 from the top of the left-hand pane (6x8), some minor perf separation/rejoining, most units unmounted, Cat $3000++.
1913-21 Victorian Design on Thin Paper ½d compete sheet of 120 with One-Line Harrison Imprint BW #D95Bzb, some perf separation, most units unmounted; also 1922-30 Third Watermark 1½d carmine & bright yellow-green AJ Mullett printing (some minor perf separation, most units unmounted) & 1½d carmine & yellow-green John Ash printing (unmounted) BW #D107B & C complete sheets of 120 with full imprints; Cat $6000++. 1931-46 Bass Strait flights extensive display collection including 1931 (Jan) Inaugural Flight AAMC #175 signed by "CKingsford Smith" & "E Chaseling" (Cat $950), 1931 (May) array including per favor cachet on unused OHMS cover, underpaid with 3d Air only & taxed, cachet in black (very scarce), 1931 (Sep) aborted resumption of service flight, 1932 (Dec 27) Woolnough Geological Expedition flight signed "WG Woolnough", 1933 (Mar 24) RAAF Survey Flight #298 with three signatures, 1933 (Dec 28) Sydney-Currie #349 signed "Nancy Bird", etc; a few commercial items including 1934 triple-rate Melbourne-Currie with KGV 1d & 1/- Large Lyrebird, 1935 'LADY BARRON'- Launceston, 1935 "Loina" crash plus roneo'd advice both with oval 'DISTRICT POSTAL INSPECTOR/ OCT 6 1935/LAUNCESTON' d/s; many registered including three with red/white 'WHITE MARK' error (two words) labels; many with flight/airline cachets &/or signed by the pilots; a few with faults but generally fine to very fine, high catalogue value. 1934 (Dec) covers carried by QANTAS/Imperial on first regular England-Australia service including from Flt Lieut RR Greenlaw MBE, Royal Air Force addressed to the Australian Prime Minister with Egypt Airmails tied '9DE34/ABU SUWER' cds signed "JA Lyons" on face, to Australia from Tanganyika with 'BY AIR IN AUSTRALIA' cachet, from Belgium, Madagascar, Malaya & Sudan and registered from Madagascar to Dutch East Indies, plus group from Australia-England flight franked 1/6d Hermes including to Greece with instructional label, to Switzerland taxed with Postage Dues, to Isle of Wight and to Zanzibar with additional 9d Macarthur, condition gernerally fine.
1935 (Oct 10) Crome cover AAMC #538/556 carried by & signed "Harry Broadbent" on Australia-England-Australia flight with KGV 1d green tied 'ENMORE/5OC35/NSW' cds for the outward leg in his Puss Moth 'Dabs III' as far as Basra, Iraq where he crashed & onwards by regular air service then back in a Percival Gull with India KGV Airmail 12a affixed alongside but not accepted for return leg with 'DARWIN NT/13NO35/AUSTRALIA' arrival d/s, 'MORE TO PAY' tax marking & Postage Due 4d alongside, the latter tied by signature, couple of very minor blemishes, Cat $750.

Album of picture postcards with 1914 Australian Imperial Expeditionary Force taxed with 'ALBANY/WESTN AUSTRALIA' cds & postage due, "Picadilly Suburb, Kalgoorlie" with 'MENZIES' duplex, & "St George's Terrace" with 'UP TRAIN/MG3/VICTORIA' cds, group of real photo cards including "Ormuz RMS at Hobart", marvellous truck being pushed uphill at Glenelg (SA) & car driving thru giant fig tree' at Yungaburra (Qld), then worldwide group with naval ships including Great White Fleet, also South African Zulus, glamour & humour, many of the latter used in Australia with States stamps & postmarks, condition mixed but many fine.

1917 commercial usage of "Star" 1d red STO Envelope for British Imperial Oil (Sydney), to the Dutch Indies with superb 'NSW/ T /30' h/s & 'BALIKPAPAN' arrival b/s, minor blemishes.
1922-63 underpaid mail including domestic and foreign dispatches to Australia, noted airmails from India, Great Britain and Papua with Postage Dues, 1932 registered item taxed "10d", 1936 from Philippines with pair of 3d Postage Dues, 1938 two Indian covers to same addressee one partly paid taxed 'T1D' and the other unpaid taxed 'T5D' but with the Postage Dues mixed up!, 1950's larger format covers with 'EXCEEDS...OZS' cachets, also five 1960's Business Reply Mail postcards with Dues up to 5/-, condition variable but mostly fine.
