ONE SHILLING & FOURPENCE GREENISH BLUE: 1/4d + KGV ½d orange pair & Kangaroo 6d brown tied to airmail cover to England by superb 'CREMORNE/ 13MY31/NSW' cds, 'NETHERTON/HUDDERSFIELD' arrival b/s, Cat $400+ on cover. Superb! [There was some confusion about the correct postage for the 1931 experimental air mails to England. This cover, apparently non-philatelic, was franked 1/11d. Ken Sparks stated that the rate was 1/2d per ½oz; if so, this cover was 9d overpaid. If the standard postage of 2d letter rate + 3d internal airmail per ½oz x2 + 6d Karachi-London airmail per½oz x2 was paid, that amounts to only 1/8d. However, we have recorded many 1/11d covers]

TWO PENCE SCARLET: 2d scarlet with prominent Kiss Print BW #103cb tied to cover to Canada by Melbourne slogan cancel of 15FEB/1935, minor repaired opening tear just clear of the stamp, Cat $500 (on cover). [The ACSC states "Two examples are recorded, on covers dated Melbourne 15.2.1935 or Ipswich (Qld) 17.2.1935". Such kiss prints are very unusual on KGV issues. However, they are a feature of the Kangaroos series where they have often sold for very high sums]
