1945-54 Flights accumulation noted 1945 first civilian service to Singapore by Flying Boat 'Coriolanus' (AAMC #1009) and Ceylon-Sydney by Liberator (#1017), 1946 KGVI 7d 'AIRLETTER' overprinted '.../RE-OPENING/ AUSTRALIA-ENGLAND/EMPIRE AIR ROUTE/...' in violet to Singapore (#1036a), Great Britain KGVI 6d aerogramme for Kangaroo Route opening (#1039b), 1947 Norfolk Island-Sydney and Japan pair including 'BCOF' overprint, 1949 Hong Kong pair one with combination franking, 1952 South Africa & 1954 North America flights including intermediates, many with QANTAS labels & pilot-signed, also 1951 Lae-Tarawa-Lae (#P198), 1952 BOAC Comet flights with intermediates & 1953 TEAL Tonga flights, some duplication and a couple with minor blemishes but overall fine condition, Cat $4000+.
PROPAGANDA LEAFLETS: All-different selection of Allied issues comprising generic issues x3 (two illustrated); in Indonesion dropped over Timor x2 (one with photo of Timorese soldiers); in Malay; in Urdu aimed at Indians fighting with the Japanese; in Japanese dropped over Japanese positions in Burma x4 (one illustrated); and Australian group dropped over New Guinea, in Japanese (with map in blue on the reverse) & in Pidgin x2; also two leaflet envelopes with 1) Australian & American Flags plus Beaufort bomber & Boomerang fighter; and 2) Australian Dutch & American Flags plus Liberator bomber & Lightning fighter; plus Japanese "Ticket to Armistice" leaflet dropped over Allied Forces; generally fine to very fine. Another very scarce & desirable group.

PROPAGANDA LEAFLETS: All-different selection of Allied bilingual issues advising of the Japanese Surrender comprising dropped over Sham Shui Po Camp in Hong Kong in English/Japanese; dropped over Malaya in English/Japanese; dropped over Sarawak/North Borneo in Malay/English/Japanese; instructing camp guards to advise POWs of the surrender & "Guards should then withdraw to their own quarters" in Japanese/English/Malay x2; & "The bearer has ceased resistance..." in Japanese/English; remarkably fine for such ephemeral items.

Five attractive trans-Atlantic pre-stamp/stampless entires with very fine markings (one to Holland), 1863 American Civil War 'CERTIFICATE OF EXEMPTION...ON ACCOUNT OF DISABILITY', Boer War cover from 'PETRUSBURG' to Green Point Prisoners of War Camp, and Australia 7d 'AIR LETTER' with Ungummed Sealing Flap for use in PNG (very fine unused, Cat $500).
