[The full 6d pre-UPU letter rate was paid, presumably after the sender was advised at the PO counter that the 2d and 3d treaty postcard rates applied only to items sent to the UK]

[The Waranga Dam was completed in 1909 & the State Rivers & Water Supply Commission was charged with making irrigated land available for orchards. No 1 Settlement was at Shepparton East. No 2 was at Orrvale where an RO opened 1.10.1915; PO 7.8.1918; closed 1.1.1920 - no postmark recorded] The illustration is above Lot 599.

1976 Postal Cards 18c Scenic Issue comprising the 7 views that were substituted & the different scenes that replaced them, unused. Superb! Modern rarities: virtually all of the original sets were destroyed & very few were actually distributed.

The stamp impressions were the same as the views, meaning that Australia Post issued seven error stamps in miniscule proportions. If these were adhesive stamps, the seven withdrawn designs would each be worth thousands of dollars. (Qty 14 cards)
