An exceptional First Convoy item. [David Sydney Wanliss was Commanding Officer of 5th Battalion, AIF. He was awarded the CMG at Gallipoli: see related lots in our Coins & Banknotes Auction. In 1921 he was appointed Chief Judge in New Guinea. He states ",,,you will get a letter probably in less than three weeks. At present we cannot well write..."]
