Annotated collection with some better items including 1934 Hewitt Kay & Stewart NSW-NZ-NSW, Imperial Airways group including to SWA, 1935 Jubilee Flight to NZ, 1941 Adelaide-Timor & Timor-Adelaide, 1942 Sydney-New Hebrides (stained), 1946 & 1947 Mornington Island Christmas flights with Qantas vignettes, 1947 Australia-NZ & Australia-GB both with Field Marshall Montgomery aboard, 1949 uprated wrapper with Qantas/BOAC 'Second class Air Mail' vignette, 1961 non-stop flight Australia-GB per 'Vulcan' signed by the crew, etc, some inwards covers including 1934 from Argentina by Zeppelin to Germany, 1934 from Hong Kong, 1934 from Switzerland, 1941 RAAF Delivery Flight Noumea-Sydney intermediate, 1946 per 'Mosquito' from NZ, 1947 Nauru flight to test the island's Homing Beacon, etc, condition variable but most are fine to very fine. 1939-45 World War II services commercial mail with four 1939 items including two uprated Postal Cards, 1941 to Hong Kong at 9d, 1942 to California via Horseshoe Route then trans-Atlantic to USA, 1942 at 4/2d double-rate surface to USA then air to GB, 1942 to Switzerland via Portugal at 1/11d, 1943 9d surface to USA & internal air to Mississippi, 1944 registered by trans-Pacific service & returned, etc, inwards covers including 1941 from China via Hong Kong, condition variable. Ex Neil Russell. An interesting lot.
1965 (Nov 19) Qantas commercial cover to Holland with 2/- Dukong & 2/3d Tern tied by #3 cds, 'Cocos (Keeling) Islands/Indian Ocean' registration label, Sydney transit b/s. At this time, Qantas flights to Europe did not stop at Cocos. Instead, covers were first flown to Sydney to connect with international flights. [Colin Riddell's cover with 2/3d solo franking sold at our auction of 3.3.2019 for $1198. He had only two commercial registered covers from this period, neither with the 2/3d: they sold for $2396 & $1557 respectively]
