WWII CIVIL CENSORSHIP- NEW SOUTH WALES: Group with various labels & cachets, noted a front only with black/white 'Opened/by/Censor' label (not recorded by Little), Supervisor's Check Numbers '2' '7' '11' '31' '38' & '39' (the highest number recorded), ' 2 /RETURN/TO/SENDER' in violet x2 or rosine, 2½d Letter Card to USA with boxed 'RETURNED FOR/ADDITIONAL POSTAGE/...,' cachet, plus inwards items including from England with superb 'AIR/[crown]/ MINISTRY' h/s & Newcastle 2-line '.../N10' h/s another registered with BPA stamp consignment cachet & British 'RELEASED BY/CENSOR' h/s in rosine, from Gibraltar with Newcastle 9-dots label tied by ' 2/1 / PASSED/BY/ CENSOR/ 13 ', from Orkney Islands with small '2/1'-in-circle, stampless from New Guinea to GB with '2'-in-broken-circle h/s, condition variable but mostly fine.

CHINA-TAIWAN: Undated cover from a colonel to Melbourne with Taiwan Camp censor cachet & camp censor Yoshikawa chop, flap removed; and POW Postal Card with camp censor Nishikawa chop from a British major to England & redirected to Queensland; both with large 'SERVICE DES/PRISONNIERS DE GUERRE' cachet used only on POW mail from Taiwan.
JAPAN:ZENTSUJI: 1942 POW Envelope printed in blue & red to NSW with Camp censor cachet in violet & standard Japanese cds, 'CROWS NEST/24AP43' arrival cds & redirected within Sydney, undeliverable and attempted return via Red Cross with Swiss boxed trilingual 'Retour-Zuruck/Service postal suspendu/...' h/s, also POW Postal Card printed in black & red on buff with 'ZENTSUZI' Error (very fine), plus inwards mail comprising three plain envelopes, Red Cross envelope with Thick Bar, blue/white envelope with hand-drawn Christmas card, and Red Cross blue/white lettersheet, all from NSW or Victoria.
KOREA:Inwards mail to Keijo Camp comprising plain cover, blue/white lettersheet, Red Cross envelope with Thick Bar x2 and two blue/white Postal Cards uprated for airmail (both incorrectly paid the 5d letter rate instead of the 4d postcard rate), also blue/white envelope (opened-out) and POW Relatives Association blue/white lettersheet both to Jinsan Camp, plus Red Cross envelope to Singapore redirected to "CHOSEN" (faults), condition variable.
LIBERATED POWs:Four covers - two by air - & seven aerogrammes all from GB to liberated POWs all addressed c/- the GPO Melbourne, various redirections & cachets including 'NO RECORD OF/Repatriation/OF ADDRESSEE' x2 & similar straight-line type, and three with 'IT IS REGRETTED THIS LETTER COULD/NOT BE FORWARDED IN TIME...', one addressed directly to Japan but with 'VIA BASE PO/MELBOURNE/AUSTRALIA' cachet in blue (stained), generally fine.

1859cover from England with very fine 6d lilac SG 70 tied by 'PLYMOUTH/JU8/59 - 620' duplex, to "Mr Ford/Parish of Connaware/County of Grant/Melbourne..." with Melbourne & Geelong b/s of AU8/59, "turned" & returned to Turnchapel !! with Emblems 2d violet Horizontally Laid Paper SG 70 plus Perf 12 4d dull rose SG 83 tied by BN '2' of Geelong (b/s of SE9/59), superb 'PLYMOUTH/NO11/59' arrival b/s, the flaps opened-out for enhanced display, a bit soiled. A truly extraordinary cover. Carried per "Bombay" ex Melbourne 18.9.1859, arrived Suez 28.10.1859; then per "Delta" ex Alexandria 29.10.1859, arrived Southampton 10.11.1859. Ex Rodney Perry & Ken Barelli.
1872(Sep 30) cover to London "Via Marseilles" with scarce franking of '9 9/ NINEPENCE' on Laureates 10d brown/pink SG 171 tied by Melbourne duplex, London arrival cds of SP30/72 in red on the face, GB 1d added for redirection fee & tied by superb 'LONDON-W/ 6 /SP30/72 - W/31' duplex, 'DEAL' arrival b/s, minor soiling & part of the flap missing.
1900'4 CENTS' on 3c Postal Card (reply half) to the ship's doctor aboard SMS "Möve" c/- the German Consulate at Matupi with superb 'AMOY/ A /FE20/00' cds, apparently missent to Sydney where endorsed in red "Matupi/New Britain", full message headed "Amoy ab SMS Irene 12 II 00", some soiling & repaired tear at right.
1929(Jan 19) much-travelled American 2c Envelope to "Wake Island/Pacific" with numerous transits including 'TOKIO', Sydney several times where probably endorsed "Try via Honolulu", 'NAURU/19JE29/ CENTRAL/PACIFIC' & manuscript "Not Nauru" in red, Sydney DLO & manuscript "T30". A remarkable cover.
NEW GUINEA - German (Deutsch) New Guinea
1903artist's PPC ("Bismarckarchipel") to Austria with Yachts 5pf & 25pf tied by light Friedrich-Wilhemlshafen cds & imperf registration label alongside tied by 'LANDECK/IN TIROL' arrival cds, redirected with 'BISCHOFSHOFEN/ BAHNHOF' arrival cds, rounded corners & minor soiling. Registered postcards are rarely seen.
