NORTHERN TERRITORY: 1907 (Sep) Tatts cover to Hobart endorsed "Registered by D Fairweather/Adelaide River" at upper-left with SA 2d x2 tied by 'PT DARWIN/SA' squared-circle, minor blemishes. [The Northern Territory used South Australian rates. The rate was 2d + 3d registration so the cover was overpaid 1d. Adelaide River is about 70 miles S of Darwin on the railway line to the Pine Creek goldfield. The cover, with stamps affixed, may well have been posted at the railway station & placed on the northbound train, on which there was no TPO]
