Australia - Victoria: 1838 (January 8) "The Melbourne Advertiser" Vol 1 No 2, undated (but old) reprint or facsimile of John Pascoe Fawkner's handwritten 4pp foolscap "newspaper" including details of vessel departures, sale notices, lengthy piece on the murder of Constable Tomkins and - shades of "Stamp News" - adverts for Fawkner's Hotel and Fawkner's Library, some spotting/soiling. Historical and interesting.

Overprinted 'OS': 'OS' in Black 1d to 20/- (no 5/- Map); reprints with 'OS' in Red on 3d 5d & 8d; reprints with Seriffed 'OS' 'POSTAGE' 5/- 10/- & £1; a few small faults, mostly with large-part o.g., all CTO with 'NSW'-in-concentric-ovals. (Qty 18)
1886-96 'POSTAGE & REVENUE' Perf 11½-12½ 2/6d 5/- & 10/- (toning) mint, plus reprinted 15/- to £20 complete - the £5 brown without gum - with 12½mm 'SPECIMEN' Overprint (15mm on the £5 brown), large-part o.g. which is less patchy than most such sets. (Qty 14)
Reprints: Duplicated selection on leaves with Beaded Ovals 3d blue & 4d, Netted Corners 1d, Laureates to 5/- (2) including 8d orange (2) & 10d grey, Bell to 2/- (5) & Naish to 1/- (3) all overprinted 'Reprint', a few with faults or no gum but generally fine with large-part o.g. (Qty 60+)
