WESTERN AUSTRALIA - Postmarks
Emu Mine (Lawlers): 'POSTAL E DEPARTMENT/29OC36/WESTERN AUSTRALIA' relief cds & 'PMG/[crown]/ 5 ' mailbag seal (presumably '5' was assigned with the 'E' relief) on reverse of PO 'Transfer Statement - Departmental Office Equipment', also with oval 'POSTAL INSPECTOR/ 2NOV1936/KALGOORLIE.' d/s in violet. PMI states PO 12/8/1936; renamed Agnew 17/12/1936. [The form suggests that Emu Mine closed late Oct 1936, having been open for only 10 weeks. Note, Agnew is 2km from the gold mine where 6 miners died underground in 1989]
