1943 covers endorsed "Red Cross Message Scheme" from different German internees at Tatura POW Camp No 2 (Vic) all at 6½d rate to Switzerland, one with Italian censorship & one with German censorship, a few faults. Unusual trio. [The rate was for surface to England then by air to Switzerland]
Annotated group of mostly airmail usages of Red Cross envelopes to Australian POWs with no country of destination specified c/- the Red Cross in Switzerland, a few with manuscript endorsements including "MEF" & "Greece", airmail covers at 1/11d rate to Australian (with 'repatrié' cachet) & British internees in Switzerland, and two covers from an Australian interned in Switzerland, generally fine to very fine.
DHURRINGILE: 1940 (Sep) cover to Sydney endorsed "Dhurringile Camp/Tatura"; printed notelopes to Germany x2 (both by air, one from a "Kormoran" survivor) or USA x2 (one from the POW Camp Cammander Theodor Detmers who had been captain of the "Kormoran"), two with 'POW (DHURRINGILE) OFFICERS CAMP/HQ NO 13 GROUP MURCHISON' cachet on reverse & two with 'APPROVED...COMMANDANT DHURR' cachet on the face (one of the others also with this h/s with 'DHURR' removed); and 1941 Swiss Red Cross airmail cover to "Camp Dhurringile". [Dhurringile, pronounced "duh-rin -jil", was one of seven camps in the Tatura/Murchison group. German officers were housed at the Dhurringile Mansion, built in 1877. It is now the administration offices for a minimum security prison with a poor record for escapes]

Camp No 11' cachet & with Censor No 1 x2 or No 3 cachets all in violet, large boxed 'RISPONDETE A/...' (2) or the very scarce 'REPLY TO/...' cachets on the back.

ZENTSUJI: POW Postal Card printed in black & red on buff with 'ZENTSUZI' Error, very fine unused; and POW Envelope printed in blue & red, to NSW with Camp censor cachet in violet & standard Japanese cds, 'CROWS NEST' (NSW) arrival cds of 24AP43 & redirected within Sydney, boxed trilingual 'Retour-Zuruck/Service postal suspendu/...' h/s, minor blemishes. [The boxed h/s is Swiss, usually seen applied to mail delayed by German embargoes. This suggests that mail from Japan unclaimed in Australia could not be returned to POWs in Japan, absence of transit markings indicating that it was sent to Switzerland, probably to the Red Cross, under cover]
