TAIWAN: 1930 PPC ("View of Takao City") to Western Australia with 3s red only tied 'TAINAN/TAIWAN/JAPAN' cds, taxed with 'CTMS/T' h/s in violet and manuscript "T"-in-circle alongside, Sydney arrival of 9JY30 on view side but no evidence of collection of postage due, message written in Esperanto. [Taiwan was ceded to Japan by Qing China after losing the First Sino-Japanese War in 1895 and became its first overseas colony]
