ENVELOPES - STAMPED TO ORDER: KGVI & QEII group including variety of brands, logos & imprints including Heinz, Onkaparinga, Holeproof, Harris Scarfe, David Jones, Goodyear, Penfolds Grange Vineyards, etc, noted KGVI Oval 2d green x2 (Cat $75 each) & 3d red, QEII 5d for Grace Bros with Removal Van illustration, some OHMS & Shire issues, a few long-format types, almost all used with little if any duplication, 'STAMP OUT/FRUIT FLY' slogan cancel and other postmark & postal history interest, condition variable but mostly fine.
ADVERTISING: Group with Referee Australian Tobacco advertising on comic cards x6, on glamour cards x3 and on Queensland views x3 'New Fire Station, Brisbane', 'Railway Station, Brisbane' & 'Cowley Falls NQ', also WD & HO Wills 'Capstan Navy Cut Tobacco & Cigarettes' artist vignette card (undivided back), 'Three Castles Cigarettes' overprint on glamour card, 'Champion Tobacco' x2 including Flag patriotic for gratuitous distribution, etc, generally fine to very fine.
GILBERT & ELLICE ISLANDS - Postal History
1935 real photo postcard of General Store with uniformed islander out front, sent to A Harold Gaze Esq, British Phosphate Commissioner, Melbourne endorsed from "Ocean Island" with Jubilee 1½d tied '.../MY6/35/...' cds [Jubilee Day; rest of cancel somewhat indistinct], the lengthy message in pencil dated "7/5/35" (?) includes "... leaving this afternoon for Nauru ... Last evening called at Residency and attended Jubilee Celebrations ..." and is possibly signed "AFE" (Albert F Ellis?), couple of minor blemishes. [See also the next lot]
