Four volume collection with New South Wales x128 with a few Undivided Backs, strength in Sydney & the Harbour plus useful country including real photos of "Hospital Friday" in Grafton and multi-views of Walgett & Penrith/Nepean Hospitals; Queensland x36 including for 1908 Franco-British Exhibition x7; South Australia x16; Tasmania x24 with real photos x12 including 1925 multi-view for Centenary of St Mary's Church at New Norfolk; Victoria x56 including two very early Undivided Backs (Jolley ?) & a few real photos including "Scene at Mallacoota House" (Whale Bones at Entrance); and Western Australia x24 including 'semi-officials' "Orchard at Mt Barker...", "Young Horses Newmarracarra Estate Geraldton" & "A Copper Mine" and "Hotel Esplanade, Perth" advertising card; also Aboriginal subjects x10 including real photo of a woven basket; condition variable but generally fine to very fine. ABORIGINES: Excellent mounted collection with strength in South Australian & Western Australian subjects but also some NSW & Queensland plus Spurling "Aborigines of Tasmania (An extinct race)", includes a couple of museum cards & missionary types notably a great shot of "Children of Colebrook Home, Quorn, with Missionaries", Trans-Australian Railway x6 from various series, black trackers & "Aboriginal Prisoner Chained to a Tree", Kerry portraits, corroborees, several with Aboriginal motifs printed on the address side of PPCs of other subjects, a few caricature & patronising types including a modern card of a desert aborigine reading "Playboy"(!!), etc, also two of Albert Namatjira plus Legend Press Namatjira Paintings x9, condition a bit variable but many are fine to superb. 1907 (c.) Westralia & Extension Gold Mine Disaster comprising Standard Copyright artist cards by Mabel Edmonds "Scenes of the Heroic Rescue..." (unused) & "Diver Hughes finding the Entombed Miner...", another by May Gibbs "Diver Hughes Succouring Varischetti", No Publisher's Name "Hero of the Disaster - Diver F Hughes" and a garish artist card of the mine with advertising for the Bland Holt production "The Great Rescue" (unused), some minor blemishes. Ex Shirley Jones. [In May 1907, the mine was flooded after a thunderstorm, trapping Modesto Varischetti. Diver Hughes reached the miner 5 days later, provided him with basic provisions, & he was brought to safety four days later] (Qty 5)
