Description: 1851 (Aug 15) entire letter headed "Maitland" (faint b/s) to GB "By the first vessel", rare franking of Sydney View Plate II 1d (large margins) & Laureate 2d (2, both with 4 margins, one a little stained at upper-right) cancelled at Sydney & with large 'PAID SHIP LETTER/[crown]/SYDNEY' cds in red below, rated "1/-" in black, fair boxed 'PACKET LETTER' h/s in red applied at London, minor blemishes. A striking cover.
