Description: Goldfields mail including 1853 privately carried cover to "Mr Vere Quail/Explorer of Golden Regions/at Ballarat Diggins [sic] /or some other where"; 1854 with bosed 'PAID AT/AVOCA'; 1855 from GB to Melbourne readdressed to Heathcote (McIvor Diggings) with very fine Butterfly '14' in red on the face; 1858 large piece with one of the two recorded strikes of the 'Please Direct/to the Care of/Brewer & James/Letter Express/LINTONS' private goldfields express handstamp, 1858 to "Golden Square/ Bendigo"; 1859 from Ararat with oval 'BACK CREEK' d/s in red on the face; 1864 with boxed 'PAID AT/BULLAROOK' (crudely enhanced; contemporary?) & very fine 'BULLAROOK' b/s; 1869 entire - the stamp sadly cut-out - with very fine 'QUARTZ REEFS STAWELL' cds across the flap; 1892 OHMS from Guildford to Fryerstown opened-out & a list written within headed "Supposed to have never registered/and got no Miners Rights now"; etc, condition very mixed.
