Description: 1854-59 Diadems 6d die proof in black on thin card (56x60mm), a superb impression. Rare and desirable. [There were no Large Diadem die proofs in the "Manwood", John White, Frazer, Butler and Rivett-Carnac Collections. Sir Gawaine Baillie had die proofs of the 6d & 1/- on India paper reduced to stamp-size & affixed to thin card: they sold for $13,800 & $12,650 respectively at auction in Melbourne in 2005]
