Description: 1860 (June 19) cover to England "via Brindisi" with Laureate 6d x3 (one folded over the edge of the cover) & DLR 2d x4, London arrival cds on the face, a few blemishes & tonespots. Apparently paying double the short-lived 1/1d rate thru Brindisi as a consequence of the Franco-Prussian War. However, Colin Tabeart has queried this conclusion.
