Description: 1901 Tatts cover to Hobart with 1d carmine single & block of 4 tied by very fine 'GUILDFORD/FE21/00 1/ WESTERN AUSTRALIA - PO' duplex & superb strike of the impressive straight-line 'REGISTERED.' h/s (77x8˝mm) in violet. [The WASG "Handbook" states at p176 "Several are known, but none have been tied to an office". NB: Guildford obviously hadn't been supplied with a '01' year slug, so contrived '1901' from the year slug '00' & day slug '1']
