1860 very fragile cover illiterately addressed to "The Govenor of Gingrants (?) to whome/Morton Bay/New South Wales/South Australia" (!) with a large Hillman 6d grey-black SG 19 (margins good to large except at top where just shaved) tied by 15-bars '5' of 'GUILDFORD' (light but very fine cds of FE14/1860 below), Adelaide transit b/s in blue & the Guildford cds overstruck with superb 'MISSENT/TO ADELAIDE SA' handstamp in blue, very fine 24mm 'BRISBANE/MR28/1860=NSW=' arrival b/s, stained & extensively repaired. Despite its obvious shortcomings, this is a truly remarkable origin/destination cover that could be accepted into even the most important of collections. Absent from the Pope & Reynolds Census.
