INWARDS MAIL: 1905 commercial usage of uprated Imperial Russian 3k Postal Card to a missionary's wife at "Sattelberg/by Finschhafen", Cyrillic St Petersburg cds, Cyrillic endorsements but the lengthy letter (tiny script) in German, repaired 12mm tear at right. A remarkable origin/destination item. [Sattelberg (= Saddle Mountain) is a village at an elevation of 900 metres on the Huon Peninsula. A Lutheran Mission was founded there in 1892]
