Description: 1918 "Darwin Rebellion" postcard-size photograph of at least 25 men - including several Aborigines - with placards & a red flag on the verandah of a brick building, minor spotting on the reverse only. Ex Coo-ee Picture Library. [The Rebellion was the culmination of eight years unrest by the Australian Workers' Union. On 17/12/1918, AWU Secretary Harold George Nelson & several hundred supporters marched to Government House to demand the resignation of the Administrator JA Gilruth]
