Description: DOWN TRAIN 4: Type 1 (Large Octagon) largely very fine strike of JA1666 tying Laureates 4d to cover front to White Hills, endorsed "More to pay 8d" & with very fine '("8d")/MORE TO PAY'-in-oval handstamp. Rated RRRRR as a cancellation. This is the earliest recorded MG 4 marking by nine months! Illustrated at page 58. [This is also probably the earliest recorded TPO cover with payment of the late fee reduced to 4d ]
