Description: 1882cover to "Very Rev N Gibney/Perth" with Perf 14 1d pair tied by very fine 12-bar '29' cancel & equally fine strike of the rare unframed-oval 'KOJONUP/["16-2-82"]/WESTERN AUSTRALIA' with manuscript date, a little soiled. The latest of only three covers recorded in the Pope & Reynolds Census. [Rev Matthew Gibney arrived in the Colony 12.12.1863 per "Tartar". Catholic Church administrator & Vicar-General 1871, Bishop 1887-1910. Amazingly, he was present at the capture of Ned Kelly at Glenrowan (Vic) on 28.6.1880]
