Description: 1836 entire headed "Hobart Town May 4th 1835" & signed "Chas Price", to London rated "4" in red for outgoing shipletter, boxed 'INDIA LETTER/DOVER' b/s in red & rated "1/-" for an incoming packetletter, 'G.P.' h/s of London in red, minor blemishes. From the period of no handstamps. [Charles Price was a prominent Congregational minister & temperance advocate. Price reached Launceston (for the second time) on 29/4/1836 so this letter is from immediately after his arrival. He speaks of asking "the Governor for a piece of ground for a Chapel...I shall leave no stone unturned to get a Chapel as soon as possible"]
