Description: 1915 Additional Surcharges on Marshall Islands '1' on '2d.' on 20pf ultramarine SG 64 [Stg 2, Pos 3] and '1d.' on 5pf green SG 51 [Stg 2, Pos 1] plus unoverprinted Marshall Islands 5pf 10pf & 3mk each with central "chop" in red of the Japanese Paymaster Temura, all tied to a single piece by oval Rabaul d/s unusually in blue, Cat 2580++. A remarkable, albeit philatelic, item. Peter Holcombe Certificate (1999) states "a rare combination". [Tim Rybak's & "Ello's" used examples of SG 64 sold for $4370 & $6612 respectively]
