Description: EGYPT: naval group with 1939 cover with triple-oval 'PASSED BY CENSOR/1DEC1939' in rosine used on HMS "Nile"; 1939 & 1940 covers with double-oval 'PASSED BY/ 5 8 /NAVAL CENSOR' & similar ' 6 7 ' both in blue; 1945 honour envelope with segmented-box 'PASSED BY/NAVAL CENSOR' tying 'Opened by Naval Censor' label (stated to be unrecorded); 1943 aerogramme to the USA & 1944 cover to Alexandria with different triple-circle 'GREEK NAVY CENSOR' h/s in violet or blue; large 1943 cover with 'NAVAL CONTROL SERVICE/Navy House, Port Tewfiq' b/s in blue; and 1944 & 1945 with 'NAVAL CONTROL SERVICE OFFICER/PORT SAID' d/s or similar '.../ALEXANDRIA' d/s both in rosine; also 'BRITISH FORCES/IDENTIFICATION CARD' for an officer with the British Contraband Unit & similar for his wife.
