Description: 1864-79 Recess by De La Rue from Perkins Bacon Plates 2d imperforate colour trial in deep emerald-green - a gorgeous shade - on ungummed Wmk Crown/CC (Upright) paper, margins close to good, minor clipped corner at upper-right clear of the design. Rare. [The well-known series of colour trials - in which the 2d is in blue - are all on unwatermarked paper. Superior to the Ex "Daneswood" example - shaved at the base - that sold for $3910 at our auction of 24/5/2008. They are the only watermarked proofs from this series known to us]
