Description: NARROW NECK: 1917 usage of KGV 1d Letter Card to NSW with very fine strike of the rare undated 'NARROW NECK/MILITARY CAMP' cachet in violet at U/L & 'DEVONPORT/30MR17/NZ' cds, some soiling/toning & minor opening faults but quite presentable. Ex Gordon Darge. No post office; the cachet was probably used during the brief post office period 2.8.1915 to 17.9.1915 & reintroduced later. [A small facility for training Maori & Islander soldiers. Writer states "...I am going over to Samoa with another batch of 30 the Talune..."]
