Description: 1915 Egyptian PPC censored "LH Jardine" at U/L, & two 'FIELD SERVICE/INDIA/...' postcards (one with 'INDIA' obliterated) all with 'INFANTRY BRIGADE/FIELD/13FE15/POST OFFICE/NZ DIVISION' cds & Indian Censor cachets #77 or #78 x2 in rosine, from the Forces defending the Suez Canal against attack by the Ottomans, this being the first action for the NZ troops. [Lt (later Lt Col) Leonard Jardine was one of the most decorated NZ officers during WWI. The other cards were written by brothers Clive & Frank Statham, both of whom were killed at Chunuk Bair (Gallipoli)] (Qty 3)
