Description: 1915 (Aug 31) two covers with NZ 1d Dominion tied by 'FIVE RIVERS' cds (PO 26.8.1911; closed 30.4.1919) from different senders to the same soldier at Gallipoli, one soiled. Inwards mail to war zones is much scarcer than outgoing mail. [Private Clarence Ward was wounded at Gallipoli during the August offensive & invalided back to New Zealand on HMHS 'Maheno'] (Qty 2)
