Description: 1940 cover to Holland with KGVI 3d blue tied Sydney '3 APR/1940' slogan cancel with 'Amsterdam Maart 1948/Door oorlogsomstandigheden/met vertraging ontvangen' label pasted on the face. [The label translates as "Amsterdam March 1948 Received with delay due to war conditions". Applied to mail which was transiting through France at the time of the German invasion of Holland & which was stored in the cellar of a French castle (!) where it was not discovered until early 1948]
