2/- brown Plate 2 'CA' Monogram single BW #37zc, clear 'PARRAGUNDY/21OC1918/[NSW]' cds, Cat $7500 (mint). A handsome and extraordinary commercial usage of a High Value Monogram. ÞÞ[Remarkably, no 'CA' Monogram strips are recorded. Arthur Gray had a mint single - pulled perf at the top - and a pair that sold for $US6037 and $US11,500 respectively at auction in February 2007. The only other commercially used monogram above 1/- we have recorded was a Second Watermark 5/- that sold for $24,640 at our auction of 14/9/2002, compared with a then catalogue value of $5000 for a mint single: now $20,000. On that basis, and given the popularity of "Two Bob Browns", it might be argued that this stamp should sell for close to double our clearly conservative estimate]
