AUSTRALIA: Assortment including 1934 Centenary Edition of "The Herald", 1944-45 editions of "The Australian" (3) one with fascinating prisoner-of-war section, 1946-48 "Boy's Own" magazine (30), cigarette packet fronts (stuck-down), also 1950s-70s theatre programmes (some are British).
CEYLON: Necklace of ancient 3rd-9th century ceramic (mostly) & glass beads with modern re-string, from the ancient civilisations of Ruhuna & Rajarata in the south-east of Sri Lanka. A Christmas or birthday gift with a difference!
CEYLON: ditto, but a somewhat more elaborate strand.
CHINA: Illustrated French newspapers "Journal des Voyages" 17 editions (1883-85), "Le Monde Illustré" (1862 & 1900) and "Le Petit Parsienne" (1904) with lots of fascinating social commentary - yes, in French! - including a great deal of anti-Chinese material, illustrations including various forms of torture, public beheadings (colour) etc, also a marvellous coloured cartoon of the Heads of Europe carving up a pizza inscribed 'CHINE', condition variable but quite reasonable for newsprint up to 150 years old; also a large & very detailed wall-map 'MAP OF SHANGHAI' published by North China Daily News in 1918, folded, some minor splitting.
NEW GUINEA: 1744 "A Map of the Discoveries made by Captn Willm Dampier in the/Roebuck in 1699" (350x230mm) comprising Timor, the Moluccas, the far west of New Guinea inscribed 'TERRA DE PAPOS', the northern coast of New Guinea, a badly distorted "Nova Britannia", a little aged but most attractive, mounted & attractively framed. [Text at the base of the map states "...This discovery of Captain Dampier that the country he named New Britain was an island is of very great importance..."]
